Terms of sale

These terms apply to anything bought through this website from the Friends of Little Downsend (the school's parent-teacher association).

What you are buying

Everything in the shop is secondhand, donated by families. We describe each item honestly, including its condition and any marks we have noticed, and photograph the actual item. Sizes are as labelled on the garment.

Paying

Payment is taken in full at checkout by card, through SumUp. Items in your basket are held for 35 minutes while you pay; if you do not complete payment in that time they go back on sale. An order is confirmed only when payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation email.

Collecting

Nothing is posted. Collect from the place and times shown on your confirmation email, within 14 days of your order. Show the email or give your order reference. If you cannot collect within 14 days, email us and we will find a way; orders left uncollected for a long time may be refunded and the items put back on sale.

Refunds

Because items are secondhand and sold at a fraction of their new price, sales are final unless an item is faulty or not as described. If that happens, email us within 7 days of collecting and we will refund you in full to the card you paid with.

Donations

Donations are gifts to the Friends and are not refundable, except where a mistake was made (for example the wrong amount was entered), in which case email us straight away.

Event tickets

Tickets for our events are sold on the event's page. They are held for 35 minutes while you pay and confirmed by email once payment succeeds; that email, or the code on your booking page, is your ticket. If you can no longer come, write to us at least 48 hours before the event and we will refund you in full. After that a refund is at the committee's discretion, because by then we will have paid for the event. If we cancel an event, everyone is refunded in full.

Tokens

Tokens are bought in advance for events where we do not take cash. They sit on a token card tied to your email address and are used by showing its code at a stall. Tokens do not expire, and any left over can be used at our next event. Unspent tokens are refundable on request; tokens already spent are not.
